I do so like days that require a list report :-)

Managed some tinkering and tidying around the house the last couple of days. The kind of tidying that makes everything look worse *sigh*. More importantly got some quality cuddle-and-snooze time with Husband. Who, BTW, has been forbidden from contact with tourists bearing flu-like symptoms.

Earlier this evening I got all adventurous and tried to oven-roast some chickpeas. Although the recipe called for up to an hour in the oven I took a peek after about 10 minutes. In my smoke-filled kitchen with frightening orange light in the oven. Eeek.

ETA: Now with added image, because last night all the camera batteries were flat.

Mr Soggy arrived this morning and proceded to excavate my domicile. Sadly for my Time Team dreams, no archeology of interest was thus revealed. Nice neat trenches though. Well, nothing Roman, Saxon or Iron Age, but plenty of evidence of the Dodgy Age.

It's late

1AM as I start this, and not a good time to be up and about with dreams of going to work tomorrow. Today, though, and its setbacks made me think I have another couple of bad days to go before I will perk up again. So I'm not mourning tomorrow as lost when it was never mine to start with.

This night restlessness is a good sign. My body is starting to recognise that sleeping *all* the time is probably not necessary. I hope so. I have things to do.

Drained

After a glimpse of light yesterday I was very disappointed with today and crashed back down again. Oh well, tomorrow is another day. Highlight of the day was seeing and then choosing a soakwell guy to attack our various drainage issues, possibly starting as early as tomorrow, as he's got a hole in his schedule caused by two houses being delayed... Ah the delicate domino fall of trade scheduling.

Yesterday did not end well, nor did today start, but I am beginning to feel I've turned the trend around.

For a start, I got myself to the gym this morning, although not for the Body Balance class for which I'd hoped. But, did make it to the pool for the first time in aaaaages, and while the distance actually swum was modest, the journey itself was great.

NEWS FLASH: PERSON GOES TO GYM IN JANUARY. JUST.

So, I'm home, having shuffled the working and car dropoff plans and am now listening to the dulcet tones of roof plumbing destruction. Hopefully to be followed by the sounds of reconstruction before the next rain.

I do not recommend a close examination of one's home for maintenance issues. You will find them. Most scary was the probably--hopefully--old termite damage to one of the wooden (duh) window frames. Joy. A termite spray was on the list anyway, but has moved up to ASAP.

It's very nice to be writing list posts again; it feels like a long time since I've done more than a single thing in a day--and lucky if that. It excites me that I might even forget everything I've done today. I want to record my progress but it might not make very exciting reading for anyone else, so feel free to step off the bus here.

So, I have a list of home and garden jobs as long as a very long thing. This morning I chose to glue Stonehenge together and reinstate it as a display piece. All accessories to scale, and historically accurate.

I'm afraid I lack the photographic skills to do it justice.

A bit sleepy, slow, and puffy this morning--too much fruit I suspect--but got in a few hours of paid work before tackling the list of errands de jour.
