Alright, I am not drunk enough to deal with this, so I'm just going to put out this PSA:

Livejournal Scrapbook is going away. Your 10GB of Paid Member space is now 2GB. If you care, there is an explanation in Russian on the Russian news page. There's also a user-submitted translation.

+ You will no longer have access to your Scrapbook once this goes live.
+ Your images will redirect, but the URL will be different.
+ Unable to tell what will happen to any photos you have that put you over the 2GB limit.
+ Back up your Scrapbook just in case.
+ If you want your photos transferred over now instead of waiting, let them know here.

LJ is theoretically up and kind of working now, but that does not include the ability to upload images to Scrapbook (never a particularly fun experience at the best of times). In theory I could host the next n rock, cat, and stuffed toy photos in Dropbox and link to them from within a post, but I actually want to have my rock pictures in one easily scannable spot. So in lieu of pictures, here are some words.

LJ is not quite ready to join the party yet. I managed to upload a pretty rock post with pictures yesterday, but it took I don't know how many attempts for each picture. I've just tried again with a new post and got errors on the first two tries. Sometimes it works. About 90% of the time it doesn't. This frustrates me :-(

Right, this test post is being written at livejournal.com, and will theoretically be cross-posted to FaceBook. From FB it should then be mirrored to Google+. I have left Twitter alone for the time being.

I've been slowly but surely rearranging the non-feline pretty things in the loungeroom--just for the change of scenery--and I've discovered something unexpected: I don't have any blue things.

Well *I* can hear it, but that's hardly surprising. The format is the default used by the recording whatsit on my Win7 machine. Can I get feedback from a Mac user?

It took only a couple of attempts to find a new LJ theme that I can live with. It's a very intuitive thing, but I do love aurorae and the idea of penguins oohing and aahing. Must be the Aurora Australis too, because there are no penguins in the north. I like it, and so it shall stay for a while. ( Read more... )

I have a post on the brew on the subject of paranoia, but right now I can't be bothered. I guess apathy trumps irrational fear of persecution.

Just tired after helping Husband debut on Facebook. He now exists as an independent entity, although he did accept my friend request, and then my marriage proposal.

Oh. Suddenly *very* tired :-(

I really need to change my journal theme, so things might look odd for a while. I find it difficult to find themes that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

BTW While we're in lj administrivia land, has anyone else suddenly lost their Statistics features?

I have just installed LochJournal on the new laptop and am about to find out if I can post to LJ (a) at all, and (b) wirelessly. If you can read this, I have succeeded. If you can't read this, who am I talking to?

I note with interest that my vanity blog hit counter #2 has ticked over to 20,000. When counter #1 went down I think it was at about 65K. Of course most of those hits were just me hitting refresh on my friends page, so it's been relatively meaningless for some time now. But then lj brought out the My Stats feature.
