I am sad to report the passing of Bob The Big Pygmy Perch. At two inches long Bob was a gentle giant amongst his people, and he will be missed by friends and family. He leaves behind two step-sisters Poppy and Peggy (or at least one of them) and the neighbourhood minnows.
Bob kept largely to himself and was never seen to join the family for meals, and it was suspected that this may have been a contributing factor. An autopsy was inconclusive, but there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. A coroner's inquiry is not likely at this point.
Bob loved his jetski, and it's possible he suffered a heart attack whilst practicing figure-8's around the papyrus stems. Water police would like to remind the fishy public that this is a dangerous area and should be avoided.
Bob was laid to rest this afternoon in the compost bin, as per his wishes to rejoin the circle of life. Although keen to become an organ donor, he was sadly disqualified following a brief mercury habit in his youth. No flowers, please. If you wish to contribute to his memory please make donations in his name to the RSPCF.
His will stipulates the establishment of a trust fund to provide scholarships for young disadvantaged fish wishing to study either interior design or bomb disposal, two of Bob's passions in life.
Goodbye Bob. We wish you well on your journey.
