Husband and I are due to take a couple of days together down south in mid July. Husband has voted for beach, and we'll be starting with a night in Bunbury. Any recommendations?

depends how far you want to go and how much you want to pay.
eagle bay and golden bay are lovely, as is prevelly. bunker bay has a resort.

Not too far; not too much :-)
I'll pass on the $600/night luxury holiday homes at Eagle Bay and maybe skip Esperance.
