My latest search for plain carob resulted in Carob Buckwheat Crispbread, from the Naturally Good label.

Now, this is more like the carob I remember: no added sugar, with a muddy aftertaste. And foretaste. And duringtaste. Kill me now.

Now where did I see that 100g $6.70 bar?

There's also carobana.com - I order stuff from them all the time.

can you drink Teeccino?
(It's not really a coffee substitute since it doesn't taste like coffee, but it's more-or-less drinkable in its own right.)

Good on you for perisisting. I went to the shops with the intention of trying the diet, came home with a big pile of food that I hate, and decided to give it a miss for now. I love FLAVOUR! Another time I would like to try it, but for now I would rather feel terrible and eat yummy food.

Seeming as there are a few people out there with restricted diets (and quite a few with the same requirements), have you considered throwing out a challenge to your flist? Maybe post all the possible ingredients you can eat along with the definite no-nos and get people to try and adapt recipes to suit your diet(s). Sometimes more brains are better than one and I can imagine you would lose motivation to be creative because of the daunting nature of the task...
