Day's Edge

Made it to the office this morning as hoped, then to a few hours of Night's Edge.
Nice to see familiar faces and have some chat, and attended a couple of mildly diverting if not groundbreaking panels, although I was mildly distracted by the need to nip out at intervals to feed the Parking Ticket Machine of Doom. Only 1 hour parking at $2.60, no change given. Grrr. I guess the machines are taking over after all.
Enjoyed comparing halfway-read notes with
fred_mouse re Sean Williams' Saturn Returns. Despite Sean's generous offer to trade Haigh's chocolates for a positive review I anticipate bad news. Fred_mouse certainly turned several interesting shades of puce at the mention of this particular tome.
I had hoped to go back to the con this evening dressed in my cybergothy best, but have figured I'd be more likely to make it back tomorrow if I took tonight off and clung to Husband on the couch. Something of an ROI (return on investment) calculation: I've paid for two days and want value for money :-)
The weekly plan to win lotto was more successful than usual this evening. We ended up both buying a ticket, and both won the smallest prize. A double dose of first division wouldn't have gone astray, but I'm not complaining.
Should be back at Night's Edge tomorrow morning bright and early for the first panel.
