Remember when LJ was all velociraptor memes? Of course you do. So, despite the fact that I've posted this "10 things people may not about you" meme in Facebook already, I thought I'd reproduce it here. Apologies for the foul deceit that may have led you to expect new content.

In lieu of a number I’ll put up 10 things you might not know about me.

1. At age 16 I sang at The Red Lion, the Perth gay pub that later became The Aberdeen, then The Deen.

2. I once was the last act to perform standup comedy before Austen Tayshus came on.

3. In Little Athletics I qualified for the state quarter finals in long jump, but due to a mixup I didn’t get to compete.

4. In Year 9 I missed half a year of school due to illness (my first big one) but still managed to win the Science prize. Was supposed to also win the English prize but this was considered unfair to the other students. I was unimpressed.

5. On my first day of post-graduation full-time proper employment as a psychology research assistant, I passed out.

6. I used to be able to play the Moonlight Sonata on piano, and up to Grade 7 on flute.

7. I had to return the first kitten I adopted from the Cat Haven due to personality and face/claw conflicts.

8. During childhood tennis lessons I was taken aside and quietly asked if I usually wore glasses.

9. I was once a muscly gym junkie, and at one stage swam up to 3km a week. At peak I managed 50m of butterfly. As a small child I feared and hated swimming lessons, regularly failing classes.

10. The first and only time I’ve been to a horse racing meet, a horse was put down right in front of me.
