stephbg: I made this! (cat herder)

Seems like quite a while since I last managed a simple what-I-got-up-to-today post, but today I seemed to get a lot done, which feels worthy of note.

Today I:

Got up. True, went back down again a few times, but this is still to be celebrated.

Made and ate porridge. Discovered that if you sneeze while trying to swallow linseed-laden porridge Bad Things happen. Not so much on the exhale, but the sudden inhale at the beginning is a bitch.

Bathed.

Dressed (pants! underwear! other stuff!)

Over the course of the day I did a load of laundry, hung it, brought it in, and even sorted it and put it away. (Fear of Boris Giles developing a fetish for peeing in fresh laundry does wonders for one's motivation for those final stages.)

Ordered Feliway and a diffuser online, having first called the vet to see how much they'd charge.

Made bookings for two quotes to upgrade our ceiling insulation. (Recommended by Mum as a cheaper alternative to getting solar power and something I've always wanted to do because the insulation here is thin and ratty.)

Talked to iinet provisioning about our options for getting better internet. Had already established that we wouldn't be able to change the exchange our current landline talks to, but made enquiries about getting a second ADSL-capable line connected to a different exchange. Initial results not entirely compelling, but they're going to do more research and get back to me. Spoke to a lovely guy called John in the Perth office, who almost certainly knows people I know.

That's THREE phone calls people! THREE!

Fed, attended, and mucked out 4 cats.

Uploaded two versions of Dragonfly Wing (Cheyry Creek Jasper) to Spoonflower here and here, and ordered more samples so there'll be more four fabrics/papers released soon.

Read some short stories.

Brought the bins back in and checked the letterbox. Some days that's all I can manage the entire day so these things are worth noting still.

Did grocery shopping, which included a piece of steak and some Suisse Iron supplements to see if I can nudge up my iron levels. Steak was a million kinds of awesome, and I didn't get any stomach cramps afterwards which is what usually happens when I attempt to consume animal-based Earth proteins. Iron supplement went not so well, and eventually led to a bit of a vom. Reaction very reminiscent of prior reactions to oral B12 supplements.

Speaking of B12, I'm happy to attribute this boost in wellness to the shot I had last week. If only I could tolerate more than one per year. Maybe I'll try again in 6 months.

Wrote a decent-sized post. (Strictly speaking I am currently writing that post but the chances are good that I will indeed finish it, so I'll count this particular chicken as hatched.)

Phew!
