Thursday night was bad movie night

Despite the advent of electronic TV programming, it is still my habit to scan the TV magazine in Saturday's West to see what's coming up and mark things I'd like to watch. I think I started this habit when I went back to study and had to limit my tv to things I *really* wanted to watch - not stuff that happened to be on at the time.
Over the years Husband and I have made several games out of this. I'm fond of juxtaposition humour where, for example, Embarrassing Bodies is scheduled immediately after, well, anything really. For a long time we played Lesbians and Villages with the SBS movies for the week. I'll leave the game-play to your imagination.
This week I noted a disturbing pattern in the movie listings for Thursday 29 Novemeber. The following quotes come from three separate movie outlines for that evening:
"An attractive but meek young woman tries to escape her violent husband."
"A detective is obsessed with hunting down the pickpocket who murdered his wife."
"A sheriff tracks down the man whe raped and murdered his wife."
Was there some kind of Domestic Violence Film Festival that day?
