Pretty Rock Poster Round #2

Received the Plumage poster in the mail today. After getting the first round of 30 x 40cm ones back I made this one lighter and was sufficiently hopeful that I ordered the bigger print at 50 x 75cm. The good news is the colours came out really bright, so that worked well.



I learned a few lessons from the first batch, one of which was Fingerprints Show On Black Prints! So when I took this one out of the tube I made sure that the soft tissue material protected the printed side while I counter-rolled to try and flatten it out. No fingerprints = win!

Unfortunately when I unrolled it at the framing place I saw that I'd dented the prints in a couple of spots by failing to curl it smoothly. And the creases won't come out even when it's block-mounted, so there'll be some flaws on the black border. I'm hoping I'm the only person who notices and/or is bothered by these flaws. I'll find out next week.

I'm getting this poster properly block mounted on 10mm mdf so it's going to weigh a bit but it will be strong enough to hang on a hook without distortion. The most traumatic part of the exercise was having to examine the only handy example of that technique in the shop - a Twilight poster. Ew.

The smaller posters will be ready to collect tomorrow afternoon, so I'll get a chance to view them from a distance and decide whether to re-render, re-print, and re-mount. Fingers crossed for tolerance!
