Things happened today. It was a better day than yesterday. Pain still pretty bad, but somewhere in the afternoon I suddenly felt more hopeful about life, which helps me to cope with the pain, so it's the best order of events.

I took my poster prints--disappointments and all--to the mercifully nearby framing place to have them mounted. Thanks to everyone on Facebook who gave me encouragement. I was particularly reassured by people saying that it's not uncommon for prints to look much darker than expected, having only seen the images on screen. Silly really, I should have anticipated that, but it was the first time I've ever sent my own colour artwork for print, and didn't have all of my logical socks on. I am *very* new to this art photography caper.

I found a freshly departed dove on the floor of the carport, noticed only when I pulled out. She had expired under my car, but since the Catmobile hasn't been out for a few days I doubt it was a hit-and-park offence by yours truely. Then again, maybe the Catmobile gets restless at night and is attacking the local fauna. I shall have to invest in a bell. She (the bird, not the vehicle) was still soft and intact and had not yet been found by the ants. Couldn't see any obvious signs of injury, but didn't really do a full autopsy to find out.

Got a message from a recruiter today inviting me to apply for a position. I *love* it when that happens. I also couldn't resist correcting a your/you're typo in his email. I always assume these errors are deliberate tests of grammar and courage, which I passed. Or maybe tact, which I failed. Or it was just a cigar typo, which was unprofessional.

Did some paid work. Yay!

I made it to the shops for some critical groceries, and treated myself to Japaense for lunch.

Made some progress on wrapping up Dad's last project. It ate at him that he left something incomplete, but now I think it's all sorted.

Need to take Princess to the vet to get all her claws clipped. I can do one or two here and there, but she's catching on everything now and it really needs to be dealt with cleanly.

Still having to groom Pumpkin daily, so I'm a bit unsure what's going on there.

Cally spends much of her time sleeping very deeply, and with very laboured breathing. When she does move around she's increasingly wobbly. The coffee table has been exchanged for the couch, which is both softer and lower. She's at the half way mark between regular shots and I've just given her some booster painkillers. Perhaps most bizarrely she's discovered that she likes her tummy being rubbed after all, and even curls her paws in a manner more befitting young Pumpkin than my own Psycho Kitty. This is a radical departure from the behaviour of her youth, when a tickle to the tummy would invite instant removal of the arm, with extreme prejudice.

This weekend I have a family wedding to go to, which is nice. I like weddings. Although I just realised I have no remotely suitable shoes. Fingers crossed I can get the boots to polish up. Note to self: write note to self to polish boots. Maybe I can tie a ribbon on Mr Sticky.

Friday = massage.

I like weddings, although I seem to be continually pushing back the date for mine.

Kyoko is the first cat I've ever owned who actually seems to encourage belly-rubs, but maybe it's because I acclimatised her to them early as a kitten...
