Oh Ye of Little Faith

Not very many people at all on the train this morning. I suspect a few people hedged their bets that the new system would function properly first go.
Switches, barriers, announcements (kind of - they haven't figured out the proper definition of "Perth station"). The new tunnels make interesting sounds, like the cries of a thousand lost souls. I haven't been through Subi for a while so I'm not sure if it's the same as there. A curious way, however, to wake up on a Monday morning.
I stayed on until the new Esplanade station just to see if it was handier to the office, which it wasn't. The distance is about the same but the walk along the Terrace is incredibly dull and bleak compared to cutting through the West End from the main station. Food, pretty dresses, books, toys, all significantly missing from the Terrace.
The best entertainment was watching the hesitation from everyone as they got off at the new stations. Heads swivelled in all directions like a herd of deer vaguely sensing danger from an unknown direction.
