Pretty rocks of the day: tourmaline

I have three pieces of green tourmaline and here they are in increasing order of zoom.

"Tourmaline" is actually a pretty vague classification that covers a lot of different species of rock, but as a label it's fit for purpose here.




And the best closeup possible with the normal camera:

But what of the microscope? It's over there, the tourmaline is over there, and I'm under a cat.

OK, here's something. Not very fabulous at all really. This is a case where I need a better lens on the camera rather than a microscope. Still, had to try.
