Coles Brand has a surprisingly near-beige fresh chicken soup which I enjoy. Today I felt all creative and decided to stretch it out with a few veges and Things. Sadly a few more of my possessions were harmed in the making of this foodstuff.

One pouch chicken soup, plus the following:

One leek, chopped finely, poked around in a frypan sauteed in butter. Beige.

Two potatoes, mashed, then poked around in a frypan to make some crispy bits. Beige.

A tin of mushrooms. Oh so very not beige. I'm such a rebel.

A quantity (i.e. what was left in the fridge) of cream cheese. Beige.

Optional, for future reference and extra stretch: one or more eggs (not from a cow) and rice noodles. Both beige.

Parsley for garnish. Beige in small quantities.

I have one large soup pot; the handle on the lid came off. One improvised and will continue to do so. It might even be possible to repair.

I have a stick blender which doesn't get a great deal of use; I'm not generally fussy about texture, but I felt the urge to munge this particular concoction into creamy oblivion. The stick blender seems to be losing the will to live. It's probably just the switch, which has gone a bit spongey, but it's not exactly a repairable appliance. Poo. Entropy is a bitch.

Entropy aside, the Stuff was yummy and I eventually ate the whole thing.

For those who care, the half a cake that was left over on the night of its baking was put into the freezer. Pointlessly as it turns out, as Husband retrieved and microwaved a slice at a time until it was all gone within a day.
