Unpolished crazy lace agate

I believe I've mentioned that I like rocks, but they are tricky things to photograph. This is a piece of unpolished crazy lace agate, and is my absolute favourite from my latest batch purchase. It comes from somewhere in the Pilbera region in Western Australia. I'm pretty sure it works in other regions as well.
These images are larger than I usually upload; the devil is in the detail. LJ image view is playing silly buggers so if you want to see these in hi-ish res go here.

All of these photos are of the same piece of rock.

I can't remember exactly what it cost, but it was less than $10.

I've never seen a natural rock look so much like Aboriginal rock art.

It's as if the rock is telling its own story of the land.

Art and history and geography all in one. A piece of Dreamtime.

In 3D ;-)
