Had a lovely outing with Husband this morning.

First to Leederville to cruise for a suitable people-watching spot with coffee and newspaper. Spot located, engaged. Thence to one of the dreadfully hip shops nearby to pick up a CD set of 20 Miles Davis albums for $24. In contrast, everything else there was freakishly expensive. I need fresh chillout music NOW!!!!!. It might be time to hit the Trash and Treasure (aka Received and Fenced) sales one morning. Haven't been for years.

Tried to find some kind of cultural event in the reasonably local vicinity but failed. On the bright side, we have a bucket-load of alternative outings (and I'm very easy to entertain) so we headed down to East Perth water to look at boats and water and soak up some rays. As fate would have it we ended up watching a cat wander around on the far shore, doing its best to avoid passing pedestrians, cyclists, tiny doggies, toddlers, and sports cars. It parolled its patch of territory up and down, making sure to smear every parked car as it went.

Another highlight was provided by a WaterHoon(tm) in a stupidly large boat that looked remarkably like a V8 ute with all the fruit. To the sound of doof doof music over the water they thud-clanged their way under the pedestrian bridge. Only their radio aerial made contact and it seemed to survive the encounter bouncily intact. But it was fun watching the topless, tanned, inked and baseball-capped crew scamper about trying to figure out what just happened.

Saw no fish, jellied or otherwise, and only a few shags in the distance. Three ambulances.

On the walk back up to the car I was startled briefly by what I thought was a dead body in the bushes. Husband was mildly disturbed that my thoughts immediately went to 'body' rather than 'person', which led to an interesting discussion on the methods by which rich people might dispatch and dispose of persons inconvenient to themselves. Outsourcing, obviously, and don't be cheap about it.

Home, to a most glorious nap, and otherwise have been quite physically active and twitchy, but that was probably weather awareness. Head not terribly clear, but tried some mostly-forgotten Chow Gar exercises that I will probably regret tomorrow. I'm not too disturbed by how poorly I recalled movements that I've performed thousands of times; I wasn't thinking very hard, but demonstrably I was thinking too much. For a change of pace (previous paces having proven themselves to be ineffectual for my health) I'm experimenting with not thinking at the moment.

Further to the thinking about not thinking I'm rewatching Mind Body and Kick-Ass Moves, a fun/interesting/engaging/inspiring series about martial arts and esoteric energies. Old dudes effortlessly disabling young dudes with feathers and mild language. Chi absolutely everywhere. Prominent do-not-try-this-at-home warnings. British.

Sounds like a great way to spend the day!

That series sounds like a lot of fun - when was it made?
