stephbgWent to the doctor today to investigate possible (but somewhat contradictory) signs of ovarian cysts.
Good news, the contradictory signs were correct and it wasn't an ovarian cyst. I declined the offer of an ultrasound to check anyway, because therein lies the path to madness. I'll do that when the pain moves to a more anatomically likely spot. This leaves me with a bunch of oddnesses over the last few months (yes even I can aspire to oddnesses) with no recourse. I was kind of hoping for surgery :-(
Instead was diagnosed with fibro-type strain and pain in a new and exciting place, for no readily apparent reason (although I believe young footballers sometimes get this (but I don't have quite the same opportunities as they for damage)). Unfortunately the prodding and poking required to make this diagnosis made the already painful area INSANELY painful, which kicked off an all-together-now everywhere pain flare this afternoon. Am now enjoying the headache that the codeine (and all the preservatives and junk that go with it) that I took in self defence earlier today has brought on. Or maybe my CNS is just generally protesting the badness.
Note to self: hot wheat pack better for this spot than ice pack. Make that warm wheat pack.
Current status: Hysterical Laughter levels of pain, which is always better than Quietly Weeping. Poor Husband is more than a little freaked out.
Have you ever been hit on a bone that's close to the surface of the skin, with a hammer? Say on an ankle, or the point of the hip, or an elbow? Over and over again? Yeah.
Hmmm. Might need to shift to Noisy Weeping. Later dudes.
