High point last night was (eventually) getting myself on a train and into the city to visit with [livejournal.com profile] mynxii at FP. She. Is. Freaking. Awesome.

Have a birthday party to go to this evening (theoretically it's on right now) but have had to medicate and am housebound once more. Another invite bites the dust :-(

Having more trouble with shaking muscles, and incompatible energy supply and demand. Heading back into wired+exhaused+unhappy territory, so took 2.5mg diazepam just now to make it stop. Am way ahead of theoretical limits allowed by prescription (up to 15mg daily), but still trying to keep it to a minimum. Having taken all but the first dose just before bed I've not had the benefit of actual happy side effects, so with any luck my Saturday night will start to kick in soon.

Did manage to make it to Spotlight this afternoon for some necessities and window shopping. Spent a while with the fake flowers and the faux fur. Clearly reality was not on the menu today. Am enjoying the new cushion insert, however. The old one did long and stirling work but succumbed in the end to fin rot dysfunctional and permanent lumpiness.

Finally bought a thermometer. With all my weird thermal sensations I've never actually tried to track my temperature to see what the data says. For the record I came out as bang on 37C, but I felt normal so I supposed I should be pleased that any sensation of mine was verified.

"I suppose I should be pleased" Hmmm. Language tells a tale.

I know I can be better than this.

I extracted myself from the pits and visited FP on that night also; we must've just missed one another. I got a zombie apocalypse book, it's titled Patient Zero.

Thought about going to the concert on the Esplanade but apathy won; also the thought of trying to get home on the train afterwards.

Have you read Scott Sigler's Contagious? It's got a good zombie vibe to it, but I'm not sure how well it would work if you hadn't also read the prequel Infected. I quite liked them both. There's supposed to be a third in the series but it looks like he'll be tied up with The Rookie football-in-space series for a while yet.

Yes, read 'em both. Nobody tortures a character quite like Scott Siegler, though Mira Grant (Seanan McGuire) does pretty well on that score in Feed

I've just been making a cheerful little list of interesting-looking books on Amazon. Not going to *buy* them there, but they list absolutely everything. Seanan McGuire's second book afte rFeed is listed, titled Deadline but it's not coming out until May, worse luck.
