Husband got the results of his sleep study back today, and as I'd feared/hoped/predicted/observed he does indeed have moderate sleep apnoea. I call this official diagnosis a triumph for paranoid wives and partners the world over. I watched him breathe; I swear I saw him *not* breath and I was right!

What makes me happy is that this is a treatable condition, and both of us are perfectly happy to have a CPAP machine in our lives. We have almost garranteed positive results to look forward to. Various surgeries are options, but not in the short to medium term.

There may be more subtle relief going on here too: I spent a lot of time watching BB breath in his last months, and that was ultimately how he died. Seeing Husband falter in his breathing over the last year in particular (and not being sure that it wasn't just my paranoia) was perhaps a continuity of that same stress.

This is GOOD news!

Or am I crazy? ;-)

Such a shame that Derek is already taken. Perhaps Vladimir in honour of our recent huntsman spider, currently MIA.

We are the proud custodians of three Crap-Fur-Vomit-Wee 2000's.

Breathing is something people should persevere with.
