Thanks everyone for the expressions of support. I did get to see the shrink this morning a mere 3 hours after calling, and I'm glad I did. I am definitely of the opinion that I do not like escitalopram and will taper carefully. I also get to try valium short term to stop the shaking, so hopefully I'll be just conscious enough to post when I'm off my face.

It's an inconvenient time of year of course, so the drama and side effects sideshow may drag on a few weeks longer than they otherwise might. I like Christmas, but it plays havoc with anything medical.

I'm doing what I can. This afternoon I stuck my finger in the eye of entropy and replaced my crumbling watch band before it had a chance to break at some random time and place for maxiumum emotional impact. Mucho thankso to redbraids and mikey_ob for being available for a random visit north of the river at just the right moment. I appear to have bought another plush shark, but it was only $6 and it has comedy teeth and the eye of a dope fiend.

Maybe this evening I'll lock myself in a small room with a 20 piece jazz orchestra. Because I can.

I don't like the phone--my hearing is poor--but I bear in mind the many offers to talk.

Also, Perth drivers are nuts.

Don't have enough bandwidth for Skype, but ordinary chat programs work well enough for quick text exchanges.

I prefer non audio chat stuff myself. Jabber protocols for preference. So I use that for the gmail chat as well, and the LJ one. Do you have a preferred one?

It's been a while since I've used anything but Facebook chat, and that not very often. Never really got into the habit - I was working with a super-paranoid sysadmin for many years who wouldn't allow chat programs at work, and at that time I didn't have home access (maybe dialup).

I'm not sure I ever recovered from my introduction to chat in 1989/90 when it was revolutionary, and my mind went completely blank. I could talk to a stranger in the next room by typing! Wow! Um...
