Have achieved much in the last couple of days and am pleased, although am literally shaking from muscle fatigue. Oops. Still, it's been nice to have the option of overdoing things which I've not enjoyed for over a month.

I have pulled weeds. Many many weeds. And chopped away at the shrubbery with heavy tools. In the process I have absorbed some good quality solar radiation, and possibly acquired some radiation burns. Spring has Sprung. Overdid it.

I've done laundry and dishes and shopping and cooking and cat care and assorted household activities. Overdid it.

Went to see the folks on Friday which is the furthest I've travelled for quite some time, and had a lengthy chat of the usual high calibre. I was starting to get concerned that I wouldn't get a chance to see Mum before she flitted off with the Archbishop. Middle East, watch out, Mum's coming. She'll be in Jerusalem for her birthday, and in Rome for mine. Clearly the propspect of her youngest turning 40 has driven her straight into the arms of the Pope. Also while in Rome her group will have a special service for the second anniversary of BB's passing, so that will be done in style. And she's be there for the cannonisation of Australia's first Pending Saint Mary MacKillop.

She's having dinner with an ambassador at some point. Not sure which one. I can't keep up.

Have had some truely excellent quality time with Husband over the last couple of days. We have not yet run out of things to talk about, and hugging still seems to be popular all around. With the possible exception of Princess who has been known to voice her protest at any signs of affection not directed at her immediate vicinity.

Time with Husband included a couple of DVDs to wrap up the season of Bond films. Last night was Casino Royale and today (because I couldn't wait) we finished up with Quantum of Solace. No more Bond! The latest production has been suspended due to financial problems, so who knows what will be happening there. As part of the BondFest Husband hunted down and read all the original Ian Fleming novels and short stories (and looked up all the usual production stories and cast and crew biographies), so he's a full bottle of something new. Not entirely new, but he's rounded out his already impressive knowledge of the series. We both enjoyed the trip down the road of production design history.

My conclusion: Daniel Craig was the most believeable assassin Bond, and Pierce Brosnan was the most sexy Bond. I prefer my men slim-hipped, unless I need them to run down the baddies and kick the s%$t out of them. The reboot movies continue to grow on me, now I've got the plots and who's-the-guy-and-who's-money-is-that? questions clear in my mind. It also took a while to appreciate the subtleties of Daniel Craig's performance, but I've got the hang of his face now. Husband's more of a Sean Connery/gadget era buff.

Have not been pressuring myself to write, but the brain's been ticking away at The Book and I've capture a big chunk of storyline in note form. I have found my horse story! Current tally of notes is about 8,600 I believe, and will keep me going for a while yet if I choose to keep developing it. There's a small window of opportunity between too sick to write and so well that I've got a life to lead, but you'll not hear me complain about the latter. Fingers crossed for paid employment this week; I shall have to be very firm with myself tomorrow. Maybe some quiet time in front of the laptop is called for...

ED: Also reviewed one essay and had one bath.

ED2: Slightly less awesome, have been throwing up for the last 2 hours or so from I suspect contaminated mung beans. I *think* it's over now.

ED3: That last prediction was good for 15 whole minutes. It's now 1:36am and if I last until 2:20am I will try to take my night medication again. Am displeased.
