To B12 or not to B12

I am due for my next B12 shot. In theory it's due tomorrow. I checked because I thought I could use a spot of B12 (hello outrageous PMS) but it was interesting to be so close to the mark. Unfortunately I've gathered enough evidence that the B12 soup they use is Very Bad For Me Indeed. Searing agonising pain bad: it's either the cobalt or the preservatives.

So, need alternatives. Unfortunately, getting the shot *was* the alternative, because getting enough B12 in my diet is incompatible with the aim of consuming a limited amount of amines. They go together, you see. And the B12 shot reactions are not dissimilar to crossing the amine threshold.

Looks like it's time to find a preservative-free oral B12 supplement. It's possible that the nausea and ickiness I've experienced in the past *might* be due to additives in randomly-selected B12 pill brands... I'm not getting shot again if I can avoid it!

Speaking of evidence, I think I might have to either give up coffee completely, or at the very least buffer it with a milkier blend or some slippery elm. This displeases me. Getting my occasional caffeine fix from Coke actually seems to work pretty well in smallish serves. Pity about the sugar, but artificial sweeteners are a very definite no-no. I miss tea, in all its forms.

You have such a strange ecology you Earthbeings. I don't understand your biochemistry at all (granted I was sent here to study bow ties and fezzes so my background in the sciences is a little rough). How did anything evolve under these harsh conditions?

Except for B1 I can't handle any B tablets at all. If needed in the past I've used liquid Bs, and that was fine for me. Drawback, it was expensive.

Thanks for the tip. I asked the pharmacist about liquid forms and she suggested I try the naturopath. I can take B1 tablets without problems. My experiment tonight with a fraction of a low dose tablet is not going well :-(
