I had no muscle strength today, right down to breathing difficulties and straining heart. I don't know if my heart was actually straining, but it's a muscle and that's what it felt like. Might have just been low blood pressure. Did not make it to the letterbox. Did not bathe* (thank heavens for the limitations of the internet). Could not sit up, nor hold a book. Struggled to roll over. Could not type until now.

Most likely reason? Too many amines over the last week or two. I've been naughty and eaten mushrooms. Six of them. There's been cheese. The butter and eggs weren't fresh enough (the rules are pretty strict there but I went way over what's beige-friendly). Somewhere in there I ate some lamb. Ah, the benefits of hindsight. Actually, there's been an awful lot of cheese come to think of it, from multiple sneaky sources. And many many small doses of chocolate.

Fetta is a weakness; the original beige food guides listed it as safe, but that was later corrected. Somewhere my brain wants to believe that fetta is OK, and I've been putting amounts of it in with my rice noodles.

Fetta is not OK.

Wow, now I write it all down it's a wonder I can move at all, but it's a threshold problem so everything was fine until oh-so-suddenly (and indeed as I was writing here last night) it strikes. I went to work yesterday and did three solid hours. I felt good! Then later I stopped. Perhaps all that evil protein had a chance to benefit me for a few hours before it crushed me.

Amine overload is one of my greatest weaknesses. I've got to have protein, and I must do my best to obtain it from animal sources. But there are so many ways to sneak in extra amines that it's easy to lose track. At least I know what's going on. I think.

(*) Did you need to know that? Almost certainly not, but it's useful indication to me that I had no spoons at all.

Sorry to hear this Steph. Maybe goat's cheese/curd or yoghurt is ok? Hope that you are feeling better soon.
