Reluctant medical reportage

Like it says on the tin, I hate having to do this but I have to keep track of my timing. If the words "flu-like symptoms" cause you flu-like symptoms, look away now.
I had a great day yesterday: 4 hours of work and a bunch of errands. Today I awoke early and managed three hours of good solid work before things started to go awry in the brain department and I called a stop. Physically I felt relatively OK, and on the drive home I was looking forward to a visit to the stables on a beautiful sunny day. I was absolutely convinced that I would be going out again in a couple of hours time.
Home, lunch, potter, have a little nap. Fail to recover from nap :-( This afternoon I very very suddenly crashed, and crashed hard. Lost all feeling in my arms, and the ability to move. Couldn't even roll over in bed to escape a lump in the bedding. Sinus headache, OMG muscle aches, runny nose, throaty, a bit of a cough, and the lungs (or more likely the mechanical bits in the vicinity) just weren't interested in breathing. Later fever, chills, blah blah. Tonight, nerve flare in the scary right leg shingles site. Something in the back of my brain asked "Preservatives? Almost certainly present in the donut you had yesterday," but something else eventually remembered that it's too soon for a preservative reaction, but I might have had some flavour enhancer yesterday. Bit of a nasty hit for flavour enhancer.
Shut up voices.
Oh. B12 shot last week. Either that or I'm horribly ill, but this doesn't feel like infection. I'll have to check back to see what I wrote after the last shot, but I'm pretty sure it involved flu-like and shingles (alternatively, check out the itchy). Looks like I got a couple of days off the hook, which also fits with preservatives, or I've developed an unacceptable sensitivity to cobalt used in the B12 mix (as per the warnings on the pack). I'm pretty sure they have cobalt on my planet, so who knows why your Earth cobalt is doing this to me.
Or maybe I should never ever drink any amount of coffee ever again.

Date: 2010-05-04 03:19 pm (UTC)do you get hayfever? i had terrible hayfever this morning, as we had an annoying easterly wind - itchy eyes and nose, runny nose, sore throat. i just mention it here in case it helps to highlight experimental error later on. or something.
