Prison plague

Yesterday Husband started showing the early signs of one of his rare illnesses. It's pretty obvious when he gets sick: he develops a sore throat and fever, sleeps like a rock, and sweats the most astonishingly noxious fumes. And then he gets over it, announces annoyingly "Whatever doesn't kill me makes me stronger," and walks back into the fray with his immune system just a little bit better than before. Which is just as well, for his job exposes him to multitudes of children and visitors (not Visitors afaik) and their travelling bugs.
I used to think that I caught new bugs all the time. "It's just a virus" being the most common words I heard from doctors over the years, followed by "You'll get over it." Turns out a lot of my alleged virii were food and chemical reactions, although the inflammation and general wear and tear did give me plenty of bugs too, but not nearly as many as first believed. I even had an HIV test once in one of my desperate diagnosing phases, probably as a result of my attempt to start from basics with my GP. "Pretend you've never seen me before," I said to my GP of long standing. "I'm tired all the time and I get sick too often. What's wrong with me?" That was some time in my early 20s. I've been doing this a long time. My white blood cells have been counted more time than the king's money. I am a pathology cash cow.
I found out later that that doctor had been charged (and I believe disbarred) for sexual assault of female patients. I found him nice and only slightly creepy. Clearly I wasn't his type.
Anyway, I think I'm sick now, as in infected by some form of invading organism. "Properly" sick. Throaty, woozy, and my sleep patterns have been unusual for the last couple of days*, but make perfect sense in the light of an immune response. Ditto the fibro flare: understandable given the weather conditions, but much more logical with a bug thrown into the mix.
On the bright side, I haven't brought this on myself.
yay
Oh hell I feel like crap :-(
On the bright (f%cking) side it appears to be coming on very quickly, so hopefully it will be over quickly.
(*) Within my own personal statistical range.
