Tin Duck auto pimping

I would like to win a Tin Duck. I know, it's wrong, it's shallow. I've come close a few times for artwork, but no (shiny jagged) cigar. How am I supposed to impress my mother? So this year I thought I'd stand right up there and offer for your consideration some of my recent work:
Best WA Fan Production: The 2009 Swancon Art Show.
Clearly I was not personally responsible for all the pretty things on the walls, but I like to think that the event was promoted and organised to within an inch of its life. Everyone got paid, all the bits went to the right people, nothing broke, lists were made, lessons were learned. I even wrote a user-guide to hand over to future generations, and have provided advice for two other related exhibitions.
Best Fan Written Work: (The genre-relevant bits of) stephbg.livejournal.com
Yes, you're looking at it! Clicking in it! Rolling around in it! Commenting on it! Lurking in it! Querying the sanity of it! I can't claim 100% genre content, but there are plenty of book, tv, and movie not-quite-reviews (I'm particularly proud of my disaster work), ooh-ings and aah-ings about the natural world, animal and human behaviour, engineering, and medicine. The Mythbusters rubber duck episode! Original Twilight fanfic! Surely I deserve some kind of award for reading all four Twilight books? A voucher for free therapy?
Nominate soon; nominate often. Nominate here. Nominate other stuff that deserves it. But most importantly, nominate me :-)
Or the puppy gets it.

Date: 2010-01-26 04:07 am (UTC)I am trying to convince the committee that if I am doing all the work I deserve a tin duck just for general awesomeness. This idea is being met with resistance which makes me think they do not appreciate the work I am doing enough, and I should just award myself one anyways :D
