Hairing off

Have returned from a trip to the hairdresser to lighten my load. Yes, the days of "just growing it" came to an end when I realised it felt heavy *all* the time. Not so different really, overall length kept, just shaped and layered. My braids will be wispy again.

Husband has been instructed to greet me with the following words: "You've done something to your hair! It looks great!" They can be trained you know.

He has a performance background so he should be able to put on an enthusiastic greeting on such nature..

I don't require actual or indeed feigned enthusiasm. I just want him to pretend to notice, because there's no way in the world he'll be able to tell the difference. It's one of those Boy Things he takes to extremes.

Having gotten my hair to shoulder length in my Great Hair Experiment I have had enough of all the extra effort and time long hair causes and am going back to short early January. Will try to keep some length down the sides for face framing (which is apparently why some people liked the long hair on me) but since it's my hair and there's noone whose opinion I care about who has said I should keep it long it's back to ease of care for me.

I was somewhat disconcerted at how few people noticed that I'd had a haircut at all after I lost an entire 30cm in the Great Hairdressing Disaster of September '05.
