Oooff and Eeewww

Have just returned from a perhaps slightly mismanaged walk to the shops to post a letter. It's still pretty hot out there and I'm nursing a flare. Still, walk good. Mostly.



I was posting off a bit of administrivia in a provided-for-my-convenience reply-paid envelope. I don't have to do a lot of envelope licking these days, for which I am grateful as I'm not that keen on the taste of glue. This one gave me extra pause, for the logo under the flap said "Candida". How do these things happen? How?* And why didn't I get the Meningitis envelopes?

Good way to spread contagion though.

This is the set of shops in which resides our only video shop within walking distance. If as is feared the shop closes, there will be a bright side: I will no longer have to fear the potential of an absent-minded insertion of a rental DVD into the letterbox.

(*) Yes, yes, I know exactly how it usually happens, but in this case I was wrong. And they should have known better.
