Various kinds of progress

This morning was not a success, for I was held unconscious for all of it. I hate this particular form of CFS, it feels like my head is being held underwater. However, I picked up enough in the early afternoon to give work a go. I've been hoping to try an afternoon session at work, as a second chunk after a few hours in the morning, so today I achieved half of that. I hit one goal post at least.
Thanks to the Melbourne Cup, traffic was particularly light, and it only took 10 minutes to drive to the office. Just as well, for the traffic lights at both Cedric Street freeway intersections were flashing amber, and that could have been nasty. Parking was free and effortless as usual, for which I always remember to be grateful.
I got 2 hours in, which felt good. I'm finding the physical challenge the hardest, even with my funky chair. I also haven't really found a private corner where I can do some proper stretching. Still, the brain is responding well, even if I failed at my first attempt at ring-binding my most recent publication. I used a trick that belonged to a different machine :-)
Late this afternoon I took myself off to the dog beach for a walk. I *needed* a walk, with my left hip, knee and ankle all protesting. I swear I didn't consciously wear a cat t-shirt to the dog beach, but there I was, provocatively dressed. Usually assortment of overwhelmed tiny doggies, overjoyed medium doggies, and overbearing big doggies.
The sound of an impressive engine proved to be a powerful-looking helicopter thumping its way along the coast at kite-surfer-threatening altitude. It was military at a guess, for although very close it was silhouetted by the setting sun and I couldn't see its livery. It was certainly much heavier than the usual press and pleasure copters and produced an amazing bass riff that echoed off the water and dunes.
On the road my attention was grabbed by an arrestingly attractive car. It was a thing of beauty, and coincidentally happened to be a Hyundai Tiburon, which is the model that the Catmobile eventually morphed into, many moons after her 1996 birth. Two extra cylinders, bigger engine... *swoon*. According to Top Gear its allegedly worst fault was that it looked too much like a Ferrari. They didn't think that was a problem :-)
