Wireless time

I now have a wireless router purely to act as a firewall. And maybe talk to the printer, that could be handy. However, configuration is not proceeding well :-(
I appreciate what the technical writer responsible meant by "This information will have been provided by your internet provider", but it's a damn lie. I have no such information. Absolutely *nothing* has matched the instructions, and the Quick Start and main User Guides contain conflicting information, both marked OMG THE WORLD WILL COLLAPSE IF YOU DON'T FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY. I hate technology.
