Happy birthday to us

When I wrote this post a couple of hours ago it was still Sunday. Then my IP went offline. After many attempts, resets and reboots I went to bed. But I couldn't breathe through my nose (too much of something today, maybe a sneaky additive), so got up an hour later to try again. And here we are. It's enormously frustrating to be kicked out of paradise offline and not be able to complain about it online.

Had the traditional family October birthday do today, to celebrate a 17th, a 39th, a 47th and a 73rd. And for bonus Libran points, my sister-in-law also has a birthday this week.
There was some discussion as to how many candles we should have. Numerologically we kept coming back to four: one for each birthday, but I don't know where we ended up. All four of us managed to blow the candles out at once, with due preventative care for disease transmission.
I also got to eat quite a lot, for my two sisters went to a lot of effort to cater beige. I had my own little salad bowls, and some chicken was left unmarinated just for me. Beige-friendly apple turnovers were supplied for dessert, although I couldn't resist a slice of BIL's speciality apple cake. People said it was nice to see me eat :-)
It was lovely, and noisy, and exhausting. They're good people and I love them all. We toasted absent friends.
