Overcompensating perhaps

Spent a lovely chunk o' time with
mynxii at Fantastic Planet this morning, with bonus on-the-fly greetings exchange with
agoodliedown (who is looking awesomely fit) and
stephen_dedman.
Have finally acquired my own rare unsigned copy of Stephen Dedman's The Art of Arrow-Cutting. I've had Shadow's Bite for months now but haven't been able to read it out of order. And there's an unpublished manuscript out there...
Got some fresh Elizabeth Moon with the anthology Moon Flights which I had incorrectly identified in my to-buy list as Moon Shots (which totally works). I shall have to make up for that the next time I see Elizabeth in a bar, although I know she can be tamed with chocolate. *hearts Elizabeth* She said I had excellent leadership skills :-)
For embarrassment factor I have a new McCaffrey (and Elizabeth Ann Scarborough) Acorna's Children: Third Watch. Yep, unicorns in space. Cute fluffy adorable ones with mystical healing powers, floaty clothes, and pet cats. Why do I do this to myself? WHY? Gah, if you suffer from completism this is a baaaaad trap in which to fall. Why can't they all be as good as The Crystal Singer?
For unicorn balance purposes I have bought Peter M. Ball's Horn, which I'm led to believe is rather more gritty in the unicorn department than the Acorna books. Now I've bought it I no longer need fear
girliejones ;-)
Having failed to locate Joan Slonczewski's The Children Star in half a dozen places I caved and bought a copy on line. Ditto Werewolf of Paris by Guy Endore for Husband.
I'm also expecting two packages of obscure beige products, and some fabric art pieces purchased from my friend Rhonda's Etsy store for Christmas presents. It will be Christmas in the letterbox over the next few weeks.
Perhaps some form of paid employment would prove useful one day.
