So, it's done. We've seen The Damned, and in one of those mildly kinked bits of fate, I liked it much more than did Husband, although I may have nightmares about young Oliver Reed for the next week.

True, there was precious little to like about 99% of the characters, but the artist was OK. But she got shot. I was even curious about the ending, so that kept my viewing interest going in the face of the bleakly nihilistic view of the nuclear future. Popcorn, anyone?

Even Oliver Reed's psycho violent thug with a thing for his sister became passably human through the friendship of one of the nulclear kiddies. OK, after he killed a few people, messily. But he collapsed from radiation poisoning and ran his car over a bridge.

The Girl of questionable motivation but an unfortunate upbringing and bad associates (lost little skank) warmed towards the end. But she was killed by radiation poisoning too, hopefully before her boat was set on fire.

I think we all get the idea.

(*) In best British taste the passing of the bunny (it's hair fell out and it went to sleep) was offstage.

I did enjoy 'Remember the bunny.'

What was with the gang's hats?

The artist seemed quite ok with random people dropping into her beachside residence...

I was waiting for something more dramatic to happen to the boat at the end.

Perhaps watch as a double feature with Edge of Darkness :)

They couldn't afford to blow up the boat on screen, but it looked like it was circling under a dead man's hand at the tiller.
