Husband is very excited at the prospect of tomorrow night's film on ABC2: The Damned (1963) aka These Are The Damned.

"It's a classic!" he claims. When he gets that keen about a film I recommed flight (with optional screaming), but if you feel like watching Rebel Without A Cause, A Clockwork Orange and Village of the Damned all at once, then this is the film for you. Don't be put off by the fact that it took two years to get a cinema release and is difficult as all hell to get on DVD*. I'm sure it will be fine, so go on, watch it.

Please don't leave me alone with this film. Please.

This evening we were looking for something to watch, which was not a pretty sight - imagine Planet Video minus the anime and porn sections and that's what we've got at home. I suggested Soylent Green, but Husband rejected that on the basis that once you know the ending the film is pretty dull. But there's one mystery I'd like solved: is the green an artifical or natural colouring? And if it's natural and made from people, what could the colour be from? Snot?

I bet it's full of preservatives too.

We ended up watching the Dr Who S3 Moffat masterpiece "Blink", which Husband hadn't watched. This was my second viewing, so I was not quite the wibbly, cringing, bejesus-free zone at the end of it as per my first viewing, but it stood up well as a piece of drama and I'll no doubt watch it again. And look see: Who *and* Trek, a completely balanced diet. I've also been getting my space military jollies with a big dose of Elizabeth Moon.

I feel the urge to watch Robocop again, having caught a few minutes of Robocop II whilst channel flicking. I need a dose of the original.

"Drop your weapon or there will be...

...trouble."

(*) It hasn't appeared in any $2 "50 Classic SF Movies" DVD collections yet.
