Otherwise known as ST 2.5: The Epilogue. I'm glad we saw this within a day of ST II, for it's not much more than an afterword to WoK.

Less Star Wars in the credits, but major flashbacks when breaking Bones out of the Death Star Space Dock. Although I'll grant that Bones doesn't look much like Princess Leia. Wonderful bit of dialogue in there, where the guard says that McCoy is off to the "Federation Funny Farm".

The rest of it felt even more Trekish than II, so I was happy at that. I'm not sure I'd have been satisfied with it as an eagerly-awaited cinema release, but it works nicely in the home-based marathon setting.

The less said about similarities to "Spock's Brain" the better.

Poor Uhura gets one decent scene then disappears *pout*. And I can't keep up with her hair.

On the important subject of Space Bikinis, ST II rates a certificate of participation for the female Klingon's cleavage, but it wasn't a proper effort.

I just can't take Christopher Lloyd seriously as a Bad Guy. I'll write off his performance as comic relief (surely?), but it was nice to see an appearace by The Bad Guy's Incredibly Ugly Pet plot device.

Are my geek petticoats showing if I confess that while seeing Spock "die" didn't particularly move me (because (a) Shatner was doing all the emoting in the scene, and (b) I knew it was merely temporary), I felt a real pang when the Enterprise was destroyed?

Next: The One With The Whales! Which Husband hasn't seen. But then it's V: the horror!

For the next one - don't forget where we parked the ship.
