This one's for you, mikey_ob

The year is roughly 1989.
I don't know where he came from, but
mikey_ob was a Dude with a cool nickname (MOB), which I suspect has been defunct for some years now but I don't actually know for sure. He seemed to belong to the hard partying end of the
dr_mickey_k circle, whereas I was at the quiet end (yes, a circle can have ends, don't get excited). He was a musican in a band. I'm pretty sure I went to the odd gig to fly the flag but can't recall details.
There's a gap. A large gap. No doubt I saw him at the odd party and was pleased to see a familiar face.
A few years ago I rediscovered him at Swancon in an amazing techno-shaman costume that far outshone my pathetic attempt at a cd-based costume that year. I was wildly jealous. He was also sporting impressive dreds and I discovered he was a sound engineer at Ch9. I have a soft spot for audio professionals, being the offspring of a broadcast engineer/radio ham.
At the Swancon 2006 masquerade he enthused about my (Snow Queen) costume and told me a little about his work in the theatre. I was a little startled at the time because his behaviour was quite frankly camp and not at all like I remembered (albeit vaguely). Had I missed a memo in the last 10 years? Quite likely, no biggie. I wasn't exactly paying close attention.
But then he hooked up with
redbraids. Did not see that coming, but have since had an opportunity to get to know him a little better through the magic of lj, and the pairing makes much more sense. He's creative, fun, calls redbraids "Lady B", can cook and likes movies. I'm looking forward to seeing more of him in the future. Except if he tells me gaming stories.
