When I reported that I was born at King Eddie's in Subiaco, I was wrong: turns out it was St John's Maternity after all. Not far as the crow flies, but disturbingly wrong in substance. I am my own worst autobiographer.
This is not the first time I've discovered errors in my own versions of personal and family history. This blog has proven to be a useful way of articulating those beliefs and memories for editorial review. I usually* do it for other people, who are similarly surprised at the results.
(*) Clinging to the semi-fiction** here that I still have a career.
(**) Only semi-fiction; I was in contact with my client today and they're still looking forward to my return. And yesterday I did a whole half hour chargeable.
