Memories and impressions of fred_mouse

I first encountered
fred_mouse 18 or 19 years ago, at UWA/UniSFA. Like many people I've known for that length of time, the origins are a little blurry.
She was only slightly older than I, but seemed infinitely more experienced in life. I was vaguely aware of both a marriage and a divorce, and a difficult family life. I knew she'd been a dancer and she frequently demonstrated her flexibility through casual stretching. How I envied that stretch.
She was mysterious, curvy, sexy and mildly terrifying, properties she retains in various quantities to this day. At some point in the late 80's or early 90's I had a crush on her, and remember visiting her one day with the express intention of seduction, but either chickened out on my own account, or was masterfully and gently let down. I find the memory a bit embarrassing, and I don't think I've ever apologised for making her the object of my post-adolescent sexual curiosity. I am still very fond of her but no longer physically attracted per se. Except maybe in that red gown she wore at Swancon 2007 ;-)
She has a great voice. I am particularly impressed by the deep, quiet, soft yet attention-grabbing scary power of it. And yet she has a playful spark, and can switch on wide-eyed innocence, a cheeky grin, or homicidal intent, all of which I deeply respect. She is like a cat.
As with many of my Uni friends there was a period of a few years where I retained only a light connection. It was at this time I heard she was pregnant. And again. And again.
She achieves things. Cons, fanzines, children, home, garden.
She used to have a pet rat.

Date: 2007-08-18 02:16 am (UTC)1. unless I've worked it out wrong, *you* are the older one.
2. I remember the incident where you dropped in on me well. I think you must have chickened out, 'cos I remember it as a lovely visit with only slight undertones of flirtation. I love having people drop in on me unexpectedly, but that house was far enough away that very few people ever did it. And you brough me cheese. Thus, very memorable.
