Hmmm, clearly still watching too much Star Trek. "Catspaw" had terrible continuity errors with the two completely different stunt cats. "The Doomsday Machine" had some particularly attention-grabbing physics (and organisational, dramatic and production) problems, but not a bad script on the whole.
We've ah, bought the first five movies on DVD using Christmas vouchers.
Cally
I haven't attempted bucket-liberty again for Cally, so she's been dark and moody, yet pathetic and depressed. She should use her time in captivity to write some YA vampire-romance fiction. We are all looking forward to the day the stitches come out, which would be Thursday. At 11:30AM. In the meantime, she still has her appetite and there are no signs of infection. The sponge baths continue.
Thunder
As always, I *really* enjoyed the thunderstorms last night. So much so I felt inspired to write a lyrical entry on the subject, but perhaps fortunately for us all I didn't get around to it. Still, there was some spookiness with a demonic flock of cockatoos, a struggling small plane and a glowing sky, so perhaps I'll be forced to knock out the words sooner or later. The cockatoos were very cool. And spooky.
Cabin Fever
I. Am. Going. NUTS. Barely tickled a couple of presentation slides today, so I really doubt it's going to get done no matter what kind of extension I get. Unless they move the entire conference to December, that might work. Such a shame. I have awesome ideas, none of which are backed up by any research or literature whatsoever, and yet, as the conference representative of the non-academic world I can say or publish anything I like. Muahahaha.
Have been experimenting with night-time Mersyndol the last couple of nights, there being not much point (ha!) in taking it during the day. Really, what difference would it make to the world if I were extra zombie in daylight hours? The fibro has been very very painful of late, which drove me into the arms of a muscle relaxant even though it's not my muscles that are causing the tightness. Boiling for a couple of hours might soften up all that gristle and provide relief. I'm considering it.
Pumpkin gets very excited when I do my increasingly desperate yoga/pilates/origami stretches, particularly those that require furniture and/or balance. Oooh! What are you doing? Can I help? Can I help? Would you like to see my bottom?
Received a panicky-toned letter from themoney vampires ATO, but they just wanted my bank details to give me a refund on my last BAS. I remember doing that BAS and wouldn't be at all surprised if I got my calculations wrong. I spent a long time on hold.
I have been eating too much rocky road.
I can't decide if I am a media or literature fan, or how my age, gender or ethnicity affects my fandom. I like shiny concepts, words, and pictures. Cosplay is simply too much pressure, and fanfic and/or slash just doesn't interest me. I haven't had much exposure to anime. Does that make me EVIL? Apparently in some corners of the fanverse it does. I think. I'm not sure, but I pretty much don't care. I've got much better things to do with my evil points than waste them on allegations of sexism in modern SF. Et cetera. Bah.
