Cally Day 2

Cally was very very smoochy and sooky again today. This afternoon she followed me around a bit in an oddly Birman-and/or-puppy fashion, albeit with lots of furniture collisions. Actually, that *is* very Birman-like.
I gave her lots of scritches and washes and body warmth, which seemed to go down well. Her injuries are looking good and the swelling on her flank has reduced noticeably. It's a bit harder to tell on the other spots, but all looks flat and calm. Her appetite is good. Keen even. She's getting the hang of feeding with the bucket, which involves some ear squashing.
I think the happy juice ran out some time this evening (about 52 hours after the 48-hour shot, so not bad), and she appeared to be a bit more distressed. Just a few twitches and tail flicks, and the first sound of complaint when I moved her. A bit more like her usual crotchety self :-) Even then she came out from under the table when requested and let me wipe down the bucket without protest. I feel like I've won the trust of a wild animal. She hasn't even hissed at the other cats, and they've kept their distance from her.
This happy dependency phase will not last, of that I am quite certain.
EDIT: Oh dear. After giving her another sponge bath I decided to give her a bucket break and let her wash herself a bit, but the re-bucketing process did not go smoothly. The fluffies also didn't help by crowding in with curiosity. I think the happy dependency phase is over forever. Oh well, nice while it lasted.
