electric socks. or maybe a jet-pack. although the latter may be counter-productive.

for myself, i have down-filled slippers.

Electric socks were definitely an option, and I still plan to check camping places for them. I don't generate enough internal warmth to make mere passive insulation an option. I've had a bit of luck with home-made leg warmers for those tricky inches above the ankle.
