stephbgWas sadly absent from the world again today, venturing forth only to my unmissable massage appointment.
I always look forward to these, having finally found a range of physical therapies suited to my unique range of "issues". I predicted there might be some twitching today, following the 5km hike last week and the Swancon sprint before that. And the crackling sound from my allegedly soft tissues.
Some twitching, indeed. The good news is that I stayed on the table, and didn't injure my therapist N. One of the worst spots set off a spasm that just wouldn't stop. In hindsight it was probably all of 10 seconds, but that's a long time when your body is doing something alarming and you realise you're being pinned to a table for everyone's safety.
In a new twist, one of the thigh twitches went up through my abdominal muscles and I nearly combined the situp from hell with the unique honour of becoming the first client to headbutt N from the prone position. Almost, but not quite.
No apologies required, said N. She could see the waves of contraction ripple over my body. It was fascinating, she said.
