What have I done today?

Woke up early and sufficiently human to try another test: can I drive in peak-hour traffic? The problem isn't nerves so much as nerve endings.
Stop-start driving is hard under flare conditions for a bunch of reasons, some of which have to do with my ability to sit up and hold the wheel, and others related to the pain engendered by repetitive gear changes and braking. This morning: nailed it, and arrived at the office at 7:00AM. There's usually someone there that early.
Usually.
Not today, so while I waited in the carpark I treated myself to a real coffee for the first time in forever, and worked on some Swancon panel notes until a key-bearing co-worker arrived.
I got in and managed a three hour stretch, including some action with diagrams. Visio is a pain, but a familiar one, and I love reducing multiple paragraphs of densely packed engineer-speak into little flowcharts. It's been too long.
Visited the folks, who seemed pleased by this development, as was I. Sadly the hovercraft down the road was nowhere to be seen :-(
This afternoon I got a please-don't-cut-it/I-know-it-needs-it/do-what-you-must/I-can't-look* minimalist trim, and my first hair colour in nearly a year. I am suitably dark and purply again, and qualified to show my face at Swancon. Appropriately enough I worked on some (different) Swancon panel notes during the you're-soaking-in-it phase.
The chemical smell, however, is Not Nice :-(
Tomorrow morning Sector 7 security will be breeched by an invasion of comcon. I have laid in a supply of fruit, rice snacks and giant freckles with which to distract them. I'll save the boiling oil for anyone who argues about the minutes.
(*) That would make a good song lyric.
