The light! It burns!

The Nice Man from Alinta Electricity came over this afternoon, trailed by two plumbing apprentices who apparently have nothing better to do, but whose primary purpose was to help the electrician with the paperwork. It looks like everyone could use a little more practice at that.
After nearly four hours of bashing about I trusted the numbers, and the description of the works done ("See attached list") since it was the list that I provided. I do good works (lists). I failed to notice, however, the wrong name on the top of the invoice, and one of the more interesting permutations of Husband's name on the sparky's certificate. Hint: not the name he was born with, nor his married name, nor the name he changed it to by licence. Something close, but not legal.
Still, I paid, so hopefully the right dots will be joined. I'll phone to check tomorrow.
In traditional form it was looking like The Nice Man was going to leave a battery charger in the kitchen, but I caught him in time to remind him, so no souvenirs. Except the calculator we found after business hours. Always something. I wonder how tradies make it to the end of the week with anything left in the van. Perhaps it was telling that we had to provide a stepladder, scissors and stapler in the course of the afternoon.
Anywho, photos of new bits to follow, including alarmingly large and elaborate fan/light in the bedroom. It may or may not double as a 1:1 scale icebreaker.
That's the last of the paid labour for a while, so I'm just waiting to get back on my feet so I can continue the good works myself. The urgency for painting the lounge has dropped a bit though, for under the new allegedly "warm" eco-lights, the yucky yellow on the walls has been bleached to kingdom come and is no longer quite so annoying. We do, however, rejoice in the presence of 10 new holes in the walls, which I will fill myself, mightily.
We also found that the bits of the house he examined are all safe, so the danger of fire by electrical fault is now much reduced.
