Farewell old piece of ^%$#

Thanks to the cooler weather I have completed my TV shopping at The Good Guys, where I've ended up more than a few times.
Rick Hart 2nds had the same model, at about $100 off list price (it wasn't actually a second) and couldn't possibly go any lower. The Good Guys knocked an extra $100 off that price, which probably explains why the majority of their models were sold out.
I'm mildly pleased with the calm way in which I negotiated unknown alleyways to locate the warehouse entrance. That kind of thing has been known to give me the willies.
For those who care, it's a Sharp 37" HD LCD 100Hz with 3 year warranty for $1190. 32" would have probably been big enough, but I couldn't find one with the right combination of features. I'll let Husband do the tinkering and tuning, not because I'm a helpless female, but because he appears to actually enjoy it. I can't bear to watch and usually leave the room.
After it's all set up and working I must also prepare myself for the couple of rounds of fine tuning which will involve losing all the channels and the ability to play DVDs. Fine.
Some time tonight, therefore, we'll have access to a few more channels, and hopefully a remote capable of turning the sound down. And indeed, sound that doesn't spontaneously reset itself. Oooh. I'm starting to get excited about the new toy.
