We decided that it was too much bother to try to find a suitable video camera just before we left, and it's a purchase that should be fun. Or something. Instead we decided that some silent footage with our current digital camera would have to do, but we'd get a new SD card to dedicate to the tigers*. It needn't be the full 15 minutes; we just want to record the bit where I overstretch the bounds of friendship with a well-handled but ultimately wild large predator and lose my head. Hello Australia's Funniest Home Videos.
A couple of weeks ago I went to tricky dicky planning to pick up a new 2GB card, because the camera was a few years old, and I was pretty sure it had limited capacity. But the cheapest 2GB cards were $36, and 4GB cards were $22. I couldn't resist the 4GB, and took it home fairly confident that my camera would have little electronic fits of indigestion.
It's hard being right all the time *cough*. I still plan to use it for backup storage.
Finallypanicked inspired this evening to check the specs, I find that the maximum my little beast can swallow is 1GB, which will no doubt prove to be twice as expensive as 2GB, if I can find one. 1GB seems woefully inadequate :-(
(*) Yes, I am still talking about the tigers. Just you wait until I've actually done it. Qantas permitting. *starts walking*
