I write this from the local H&R Block office, having bowed to the pressure of the close of October and finally made an appointment to do my tax. I'm normally much more organised than I am this year, so we'll see how it goes. I am, however, stupidly early, hence the pointless blathering while I await the torture.
Haven't been online for a couple of hours, for three.com (hopefully) is down. I hope it's them because I've rebooted multiple times and done *almost* all the things required to disentangle connection problems from my end.
I also await with disfavour the scheduled LJ maintenance downtime sometime soon. I haven't yet translated the time zones, but based on the assumption it will be the dead of night for someone else, I expect it will be a harrowing few hours of daylight for us here. I am overdue to do some backing up.
In good news made it to work today for a half day, by not attempting to start at my usual early hour. I remember that lesson from daylight saving last year: the difference between getting up at 5:30am and 4:30am is significant and to be deferred until the change has had a chance to sink in. I scored not only a lift in to the station with an off-duty Husband, but a seat next to the charming
baby_elvis. Today I worked on a database design.
I have added a weekly swim to my calendar, starting tomorrow. We'll see how that goes, but I am looking forward to escaping gravity for a bit. Hopefully I'll get back up to 2-3 per week, plus the odd visit to the dog beach for a lung purge.
The office is definitely shifting to North Fremantle, but the schedule is a complete mystery to all. It could be in mere weeks, it could be months.

And now, we're back. Decent sized tax return, although the medical expenses rebate was pathetically small :-(
Despite my protestations of disorganisation this year, it was nice to be effusively thanked for being so organised.
