Video camera

Dear Lazyweb
I would like to buy a video camera by the beginning of December (*brief spark of interest* tigers!), but have no interest in the shopping process right now. Haven't picked a budget, but it's likely to be "medium" whatever medium happens to be right now. No idea what features are out there. Small would be good. If we need decent audio I'm happy to plug in a mike.
Second-hand is fine in theory by me unless I receive info to the contrary.
Any tips, recs or experiences?

Date: 2008-10-22 04:23 am (UTC)Modern, new-fangled compact digital cameras usually shoot video too. Which is fine for a few minutes until the memory-card runs out. Usually this is all the video I want anyway, so I haven't bothered buying a specific video-camera.

Date: 2008-10-22 05:16 am (UTC)I shoot vids these days with my Canon 630. Live bands and clips of tango from the milongas whilst in BA, (the only way to get the feel of the dance-halls) excellent visuals but not great audio. You could edit in iMovie 8.
