Good bit of technical communication

One of my siblings (I have many) found this short educational video about the device and procedure visited upon BB today. I thought it was an excellent little production, although Husband--who was perhaps a little less prepared--went a little green. He liked the music. I liked the anaesthesia.

Contrary to earlier indications it was neither a shunt nor a sponge, nor a spinal tap, but my cyberpunk senses are tingling for it is indubitably a cranial implant. His is 8cm long, but I don't know if that's the whole thing or just the catheter part. I suspect the latter.
He's been moved to a post-neurosurgery high dependency unit* for the time being. I actually got him to myself for a bit this evening so he could relax and not have to talk while I did my magic thang. Recovery from a GA might have something to do with that. At times he's too popular for his own good. He still managed to purr and groan a bit, and thanks to the monitors I can claim to have dropped his pulse rate about 5 points. The nurses seemed to approve :-)
Other indications are that things went about as well as expected at this time. I plan to see him tomorrow morning on the way to femmeconne.
(*) Is HDU a step down from ICU? Or has there been a change of name? I confess I'm pleased to not know the answer from experience.
