The state of the spine

Actually the spine is probably fine. The neighbouring tissues are having some issues, but there have been improvements over the course of the day.
This morning the Twinge had spread to spasms across the full width of the lower back, collected the gluts and headed for the hammies. I found this obscurely reassuring, for it was another nail in the coffin of the oh-no-not-shingles-again paranoid theory.
Obscurely reassuring, and yet wildly uncomfortable.
A lot of rest and heat and cautious movement later, the soreness has retreated to one side, over the site of an old strain. I anticipate trouble putting on my trousers in the morning, but am hopeful I'll get myself around.
Wednesday I have an all day ACS conference at the Hole that is Tech Park. There's an experimental drug lab on site, so I'm sure I'll make it through the day. There's a mutant rat breeding facility there too, so lunch will be taken care of.
